Choate Construction and Savannah Ghost Pirates Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity

Choate Construction Company partnered with the Savannah Ghost Pirates hockey team to work on affordable homes for the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity last Friday. Together, volunteers laid sod for two properties and painted the interior of one home, totaling more than 80 hours of volunteer work.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to partner with Savannah’s newest sports team, the Ghost Pirates, to Build Up our community and put our construction skills to good use,” shared Kirk Gilbert, Choate Vice President and Division Manager for Savannah.

In addition to leading Choate’s Savannah office, Kirk also serves as Board President for Habitat for Humanity. “Having a home is something many of us take for granted, so it’s an honor to help members of our community find comfort, rest, and fortitude through affordable, quality housing, made possible by the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and its much-appreciated volunteers.”

Choate is also the Ghost Pirates’ Nonprofit of the Night sponsor for their upcoming 2022-2023 season. Through the sponsorship program, nonprofits across the Coastal Empire have the opportunity to be featured during a home game through overhead announcements, fundraising opportunities, and more.  Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity will be featured on Wednesday, January 11 as the Ghost Pirates take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
