GreyStone Power and Choate broke ground on July 11, 2019, joined by GreyStone Power leadership and staff, stakeholders, and local community partners. Now the project is at 50% completion and excitement is building around this much anticipated new headquarters campus. GreyStone’s last major expansion was in 1990, when the cooperative served around 50,000 members. Since then, the co-op’s membership has more than doubled, along with the operating revenue, and miles of additional lines. The new headquarters will provide a centralized location for its service area and will provide much-needed room to accommodate GreyStone’s daily operations.
The expansive campus, designed by Smallwood, will include GreyStone’s corporate office, an engineering building, a vehicle maintenance shop, and a solar field. The new facility in Hiram is expected to be completed by December 2020.
