Ken Hicks

As Choate Construction’s Chief Administrative Officer, Ken leads the development and integration of key organizational strategies that support our people-first culture. Leveraging his 20+ years of experience, his collaborative approach and focus on operational excellence strengthen the programs and teams that drive our employee-owner experience.

What is your hidden talent?

My dad was a carpenter, and he taught me some of his basic skills. I’ve enjoyed utilizing those skills building small structures, such as patio tables for family and friends.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

Learn to play the piano. I took lessons years ago, but didn’t fully develop the skill. I often reflect and wish I would have continued; I expect I’ll pick it up again down the road when I have more time.

If you could tell one person "Thank You" for helping you become the person you are today, who would it be and what did they do?

Both of my parents. They provided such a wonderful environment growing up and the ability to thrive. They set a solid foundation for our family and the importance of a strong family nucleus. They also taught us how to be kind, how to treat and help others. Their example and guidance provided the fundamentals to enjoy life.
