If you could close your eyes and be anywhere on earth when they opened, where would you be?

Sunshine Beach, Australia. Australia has no shortage of spectacular beaches, and I was lucky enough to have spent many summers and school holidays here visiting my grandparents. So many great memories from childhood through to adulthood. If you asked me what I miss most about home, this would probably be it.

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

Flying. I’ve always had a keen interest in aviation and could think of nothing better to do with my spare time than navigating the skies and seeing the world from 30,000 ft. It’s an estimator’s version of thrill seeking, plus no more vacations ruined by airport delays or middle seats because commercial travel would be a thing of the past — although I may struggle garnering interest from passengers!

What’s a fear you’re proud to have overcome?

Moving internationally. I never imagined living anywhere other than Australia, but shortly after marrying an American I found myself saying farewell to mates, family and the Queen’s English. Moving stateside meant trading Metric for Imperial, right-hand drive for left, and ordering a Bud at the bar instead of Fosters at the pub (although no true Aussie actually drinks the stuff).
