Choate’s Todd Barrett Selected for ENR FutureTech Conference

Choate’s Director of Virtual Construction, Todd Barrett, has been selected as a panelist on the fourth annual ENR FutureTech West Conference.
Industry leaders will explain and demonstrate the latest and future uses of technology, including simulation and computational approaches to analysis and aesthetics. Hear how specialty contractors are quickly adopting advanced modeling and production technologies, and take a look at some of the hottest apps being used and how they are improving project outcomes.
Held on March 14 in San Francisco, Todd will be featured as a panelist for “The Rise of ‘Super Subs’: Will They Become the Drivers of the Industry?” panel.
Other attendees include David Bartlett, Vice President of IBM Smarter Buildings; Steve Jones, Senior Director of McGraw-Hill Construction, and other top industry players in the Virtual Construction world.
Todd brings 14 years of construction experience to the table. As a Registered Architect working for Choate Construction Company, Todd has elevated VirtualWorks, Choate’s Virtual Construction department, to new heights. He possesses an expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) using software like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and many others. Todd is responsible for managing Choate’s field technology and BIM processes on projects throughout preconstruction and construction. Throughout his career, Todd has driven the process for defining BIM related project goals for owners, consultants, and contractors.
Choate’s VirtualWorks department specializes in the use of multi-dimensional, intelligent models created through the process of BIM to minimize time loss as well as costs and maximize efficiency during the project. Todd and his group lead the pack in collaborative virtual construction and utilize the latest technology such as laser and point cloud scanning, 4D sequencing, and fully integrated BIM processes.
