Beer Garden for Moon River Brewing Company Completes

March 13, 2013

Savannah, GA (March 13, 2013) – Popular Moon River Brewing Company expands their operations with a patio bar properly dubbed the “Beer Garden.”  Choate completed the Garden in time for a festive “christening,” where the beer flowed as freely as the concrete did just a few months ago.

The 5,400-SF Beer Garden features a single-story building attached to the current Moon River Brewing building and contains a small kitchen, full bar and restroom facilities. The remaining 3,600 SF seat more than 200 patrons.  Carolina jasmine and Moon River Brewing yellow blossoms growing on a cypress pergola atop most of the seating area, providing cool shade on hot Savannah summer days.

Below your feet are pavers and concrete inlays, surrounded by a brick and wrought iron fence designed to blend with Savannah’s Historic District’s architecture. Herbs, flowers, shrubs and trees are planted along the north and west sides of the Beer Garden to enhance the “garden” feeling.

The site, often referred to as “the pit” by neighbors, was the remains of a basement from a building demolished several years ago.  Approximately 2,000 cubic yards of dirt were trucked in to fill in the “pit” so vertical construction to take place.
