This unique, multi-functional building is a cornerstone of the client’s vision of “not only providing quality healthcare for local residents but becoming an active participant in the economic development,” said SJC of Bryan County and southern Bullock County, Georgia.
Located across I-16 from Hyundai Motor Group’s Metaplant America, the largest electric vehicle manufacturing facility in the state, the 12,000-SF building contains 5,200 SF of SJC space, including lobby, waiting area, lab rooms, x-ray room, staff lounge, exam rooms, nurses’ station, offices and other support spaces. SJC has also set aside 4,500 SF for primary health services to be added in the future. The Development Authority occupies the remaining 2,300 SF.
SJC has been investing heavily, being proactive when it comes to providing healthcare services where people live and work. Bryan County is the fastest-growing county in Georgia one of the top ten fastest in the United States. The area’s growth has been fueled by the automaker’s expansion as well as proximity to the busy Savannah ports. Previously, the closest urgent care facility was 25 minutes away.
Choate enjoys a strong relationship with St. Joseph’s/Candler, a repeat client. Choate has collaborated with both entities on numerous SJC projects, including the urgent care in Richmond Hill, GA, the MRI suite in Bluffton, SC, and the cardiology suite in Pooler, GA.
